How to pick a random name
- Type or paste your names, one per line. You can paste a column straight from Excel or Google Sheets. Your list is remembered in this browser for next time.
- Choose how many winners you need and click Pick.
- Tick Remove picked names to draw again without picking the same person twice, for example to choose who presents next in class.
Making random teams
Enter the number of teams and click Make teams. The list is shuffled and dealt out one by one, so team sizes never differ by more than one person. Click again for a different split.
Is the draw fair?
Yes. Every name has the same chance of being picked. The picker uses your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator and an unbiased shuffle (Fisher–Yates). Names that appear twice in the list have twice the chance, which you can use to give extra entries.
