How to pick a random number
- Enter the smallest and largest number you want. Both ends are included.
- Choose how many numbers to draw. Tick No repeats if every number must be different, for example for a lottery or a raffle.
- Click Generate (or press Enter). Click again for a new draw.
Is it really random?
Yes. Numbers come from your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator, the same one used to create encryption keys, and every number in the range has exactly the same chance. Nothing is decided on a server, and earlier results have no influence on the next draw.
Ideas for using it
- Roll a die, or several dice at once.
- Draw raffle or giveaway winners by ticket number.
- Pick lottery numbers, for example 6 numbers from 1 to 49 with no repeats.
- Choose a random student, question or page number.
- Create random test data or sample a list of rows.
To pick from a list of names instead of numbers, use the Random Name Picker.
