Time Zone Converter

Convert a date and time between time zones around the world, with daylight saving time handled automatically. Includes a live world clock.

How to convert time between time zones

  1. With Live ticked, the table is a world clock showing the current time in every city on your list.
  2. To convert a specific time, pick the date and time and the time zone it is in. Live mode turns off and every other city shows the matching local time, with “+1 day” or “−1 day” when the date is different.
  3. Add cities from the list at the bottom, or remove them with ✕. Your list is saved in this browser.

Planning meetings across time zones

Enter the proposed meeting time in your own zone and check the other rows to make sure it falls within working hours for everyone. Remember that daylight saving time starts and ends on different dates in North America, Europe and the southern hemisphere, so the gap between two cities can change by an hour for a few weeks each spring and autumn. This converter uses your browser’s up-to-date time zone database, so those changes are handled automatically for any date.

Common time zone abbreviations

  • UTC / GMT – Coordinated Universal Time, the reference for all other zones (London in winter).
  • ET (EST/EDT) – Eastern Time, New York: UTC−5, or UTC−4 in summer.
  • PT (PST/PDT) – Pacific Time, Los Angeles: UTC−8, or UTC−7 in summer.
  • CET/CEST – Central European Time, Paris and Berlin: UTC+1, or UTC+2 in summer.
  • IST – India Standard Time: UTC+5:30, no daylight saving.
  • CST (China) – China Standard Time: UTC+8.
  • JST / KST – Japan and Korea Standard Time: UTC+9.

Abbreviations can be ambiguous – “CST” means different things in the US, China and Cuba – so this tool uses city names instead.
