How age is calculated
The calculator counts full calendar months from your birth date, then the remaining days. When a month is shorter than your birth day – for example if you were born on the 31st – the last day of that month is used. People born on 29 February celebrate on 28 February in non-leap years for this calculation.
This is the international age system used in most countries: you are 0 at birth and gain a year on each birthday. Some systems count differently; for example, the traditional East Asian age adds one year at birth and another every new year.
