- Click Copy. Click Generate new text for a different random version.
What is lorem ipsum?
Lorem ipsum is scrambled Latin placeholder text used by designers, developers and publishers since the 1500s. It comes from a passage of Cicero’s De finibus bonorum et malorum written in 45 BC. Because the words look like real text but don’t mean anything, readers focus on the layout, fonts and spacing of a design instead of reading the content.
Tips
- Use the Words option to fill fixed-length fields such as headlines, buttons and product names.
- Turn off “Start with Lorem ipsum…” when you need several placeholder blocks that don’t all begin the same way.
- Replace placeholder text before publishing. Search engines see lorem ipsum as low-quality content.
