Which case should I use?
- Title Case – headlines and book titles. Short words like “a”, “of” and “the” stay lowercase unless they come first.
- Sentence case – fixes text typed with Caps Lock on: only the first letter of each sentence is capitalized.
- camelCase and PascalCase – variable, function and class names in JavaScript, Java, C# and many other languages.
- snake_case – Python variables, database columns and file names.
- kebab-case – URLs, CSS class names and file names.
- CONSTANT_CASE – constants and environment variables such as
MAX_SIZE.
The programming cases (camelCase, snake_case and so on) convert each line separately, so you can paste a list of names and convert them all at once.
FAQ
Does it work with accented letters and other alphabets?
Yes. Letters such as é, ß, Ж or Ω are converted using Unicode rules, so French, German, Spanish, Greek and Cyrillic text all work.
Will Title Case keep acronyms like NASA?
No. Title Case first makes everything lowercase, so “NASA” becomes “Nasa”. Fix acronyms by hand afterwards.
