How to convert CSV to JSON
- Paste CSV data, for example copied from Excel, Google Sheets or a database export.
- The delimiter is detected automatically. Commas, semicolons (common in Europe), tabs and pipes all work.
- With First row is a header, each row becomes an object with the header names as keys. Without it, you get an array of arrays.
- Copy the JSON or download it as a file.
How to convert JSON to CSV
Switch to JSON → CSV and paste an array of objects. The keys of all objects become the columns, so objects with different keys are handled. Nested objects and arrays are written as JSON text in a single cell. Downloaded CSV files include a UTF-8 marker so Excel shows accented and non-Latin characters correctly.
FAQ
What about commas and quotes inside values?
Values that contain the delimiter, quotes or line breaks are wrapped in double quotes, and quotes inside them are doubled (""), following the CSV standard (RFC 4180). The converter reads such values correctly too.
Why did my zip code lose its leading zero?
It didn’t: numbers with leading zeros such as 02134 are kept as text. Turn off Convert numbers to keep every value as a string.
Is my data uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser.
